What is the purpose of an eczema diet?  Understanding that it most likely is not the foods we eat that are the cause of our eczema is important.  But what is even more important is the understanding that the diet we choose can be the cure for our eczema.   Eczema is no longer a mythical beast that can only be treated with steroids and a prayer.  We now know the cause, and therefore we can attack the disease and not just the symptoms, and diet plays a crucial role in this plan of attack.

Eczema or skin dermatitis is primarily the result of allergens that we breathe.  They are now saying that around sixty five percent of all eczema is related to inhalant allergy.  If you think about it, it really makes sense.  There are so many allergens in the air, such as pollens from the plants around our homes.  As well as dust and even mold spores from molds we don’t see or even realize exist.

The key to a successful eczema diet is you want to pick foods which help carry away these toxins through filters other than your skin.  This can be accomplished if you know the right proportion of foods to eat.  Anti-oxidants are the big buzz these days, and you want foods which will work in the same manner.  But instead of carrying off free radicals, they carry off toxins which found themselves in your bloodstream.  So, what is the purpose of the eczema diet?  To keep you eczema free through an all natural means.
